Stochastic methods for finite approximations in a non-Archimedean setting
In a recent paper we proved a finite approximation theorem for quantum systems over a local field. The proof used standard functional analytic methods. In this talk we present a stochastic proof of the same. It is based on a work in progress concerning convergence of random walks over a local field. The stochastic method gives somewhat stronger results, at the expense of a couple of mild extra assumptions.
